Gallery Exhibit featuring works by Mark Schiffner

Mark Schiffner is a visual artist originally from Allentown, PA. After his 31-year medical career in the US Navy, Mark and his wife MaryAnne settled in Bennington to be closer to her family. He continued to work in the medical profession for the next 14 years before retiring in 2022. During his time in Bennington, Mark has concentrated his visual arts interest in photography, exhibiting his work at the former Beyond Gallery in Bennington, Fiddlehead Gallery, Southern Vermont Medical Center, the Vermont Visitors Center, and the Park-McCullough House in North Bennington. His subjects tend to be landscapes and wildlife, especially birds-in-flight. This winter, he was asked by the Vermont Arts Exchange to photograph bands performing as part of the Basement Music Series at Little City Cider Company in Bennington. Some of those photos were published in the MAR-APR 2023 issue of Vermont Country magazine.

Mark has a BA in Graphic and Advertising Design from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. Part of his studies included Intro to Photography and Darkroom Techniques, taught by nationally known portrait photographer Judith Joy Ross.
