Jane Johnson spends her time in retirement immersed in a unique pastime – painting – and, while painting may not seem like an especially unique pastime to many, that is likely because they can see.
Johnson, however, is legally blind.
The loss of her sight occurred in two different instances, Johnson explained.
“The first eye, my left eye, I lost 10 years ago. It was a brain tumor sitting on the optical nerve – it’s called a meningioma,” said Johnson.
That brain tumor, while still there, is benign. It has left Johnson without vision in that eye, but the ability to still discern light from dark.
